Manufactured & Modular Homes

What are manufactured and modular homes?

Manufactured homes – once referred to as single-wide and double-wide mobile homes – are factory-built houses engineered and constructed to the strict specifications of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) federal building code.

Modular homes, on the other hand, are constructed to building codes required by your state, county and specific locality and therefore are not restricted by building or zoning regulations for manufactured homes.
